Know a good candidate or interested in making a move? Many of our team members are experienced fundraising, chamber, economic development communications and nonprofit professionals, BUT we are also interested in top quality business professionals with strong communication skills and experiences that are readily adaptable to our work. We can train any candidate who has the right skill set and motivation to succeed. POWER 10 team members believe in making a difference, doing good work, and making it fun.
A reporter overheard Alabama football coach, Nick Saban, loudly expressing his opinion on the practice field and later asked the coach, “Why are you so tough on people?” Coach Saban paused a beat and then responded slowly, “Well – I don’t know if that’s fair that I’m really tough on people. We create a standard for how we want to do things, and everybody’s got to buy in to that standard or you really can’t have any team chemistry. You know – mediocre people don’t like high achievers and high achievers don’t like mediocre people.”
At POWER 10, we subscribe to this view of the importance of setting and achieving a high standard for our clients and our firm. Mediocre just won’t do. We are building / growing a team focused on achieving a high standard.
Of course not. But day-to-day, we’re very good – and we are very accustomed to winning our campaigns.
In contrast to most industries, there are no schools pumping out “capital campaign management” graduates and there are very few fundraising firms in the marketplace from which we might source the talent we need, and our clients deserve. So, we generally find ourselves in the position of seeking out talented people in other professions who have the skill set we need and are looking for a make-a-difference “extra” in their professional life.
