Congratulations are in order for our partner, the Business Development Corporation of Van Wert, for its recently concluded highly successful campaign to fund its 2014-2018 “Opportunity Fund Initiative.” The BDC’s campaign, led by Campaign Co-Chairs Kim Braun, Brian Greve, and Pat Ryan, raised $1.1 million – 10% more than it’s $1 million goal. With money (investments!) still coming in, the BDC may yet approach it’s $1.5 million stretch goal. Of note, Van Wert is a community of less than 30,000 people. The funds raised will be used to provide low interest construction or other financing and / or land to assist in attracting new companies to Van Wert and assisting existing businesses with their expansion plans.
The BDC celebrated its campaign victory on March 5th with a reception at the Willow Bend Country Club in Van Wert. A number of key community and business leaders spoke at the Victory Celebration including Pat Ryan (Campaign Co-Chair), Brian Greve (Campaign Co-Chair), Tim Purmort (BDC Board President), State Rep.
